I Wish I Worked There Book Launch

Last Thursday Sophie and I ventured to the book launch of I Wish I Worked There hosted by Sony Music HQ. Kursty Groves and Will Knight did an amazing job and it was a really pleasant event. I mean, how can you go wrong with free (brilliant) food, free (alcoholic) drinks and (free) freebies?

During my career, I have had the pleasure of working on quite a few office interior projects and it was refreshing to see a well-thought out book on the subject being launched. In terms of the book itself, it could definetely have done with some bigger images to show off these spectacular offices, but other than that, the book did capture the essence of working spaces.

No wonder companies like Morgan Lovell (an office interior company) do so well, because at the end of the day, our office is where we pretty much live! And if it's a well-designed interior, we pretty much live, eat, breathe and sleep there as well. I do believe that creative office spaces evolve organically through it's staff, and you can only do so much as a designer (who works somewhere else) to inject personality into one without subjective thoughts on the subject.

Every time I have moved office / job I have made sure that The Explorer, my inflatable dinosaur Nigel (he has a puncture at the minute, but I will fix him!) and all my other 'friends' tag along, so I can make my personal space as personal as possible.
